About Our Secure Age Checks
Age Checks provide a quick and secure way for users to unlock chat on Roblox. This built-in protection helps limit interactions to users who are in a similar age group, enabling you to feel more confident about who your children are chatting with.
No system is foolproof, so we recommend pairing Age Checks with your Parental Controls and using our Parent Resources to talk often with your child about how to stay safe online.
What age checks unlock
By completing the age check process, users can connect with peers of similar ages, and Trusted Connections (for users 13 and older).
Chat access
Unlocks chat features (Experience, Voice, Party Chat).
Trusted Connections
Through Trusted Connections, age-checked users 13 or older can chat freely with people they know. We'll soon roll out dedicated solutions for direct chat between parents and children younger than 13 or between siblings in different age groups.
Social media links (upcoming)
Will allow age-checked users 13 and older to view social media links on Experience Details Pages and Communities (starting early 2026) so they can follow along with updates and share feedback on their favorite games.
Studio Team Create (upcoming)
Will allow age-checked users to co-create experiences with other users of similar ages using Team Create, Roblox Studio's real-time collaboration feature (starting early 2026).
How to complete an age check on Roblox
A combination of Facial Age Estimation technology and ID verification (or verified parental consent) is the most accurate way to measure a user’s age.
All methods are safe and secure. Images and video are used only for age estimation and are deleted immediately after processing.
