Our new rephrasing feature automatically updates messages that use profanity into more respectful language. This helps to keep conversations flowing while adhering to our Community Standards. This bold new approach will require continued experimentation and learning but is focused on empowering users to collaborate and connect in ways that are both fun and respectful.

If a user repeatedly attempts to send messages that the text filter or rephrasing feature detects as against the rules, Roblox will send a notification, warning them to stop. Repeated violations can lead to temporary blocks, suspensions, or bans. 

We collaborate with law enforcement worldwide, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and other international agencies, engaging them when necessary.

We are a founding partner of Robust Open Online Safety Tools (ROOST), a global nonprofit dedicated to advancing digital safety with open-source tools. We’ve implemented and open-sourced safety tools including Roblox Sentinel, an AI system for early detection of potential risk in chat conversations, and our PII Classifier, an AI model for detection of attempts to share or request personally identifiable information (PII).

Going through Facial Age Estimation allows you to access chat features and content restricted to specific age groups. The process is quick and simple. If you encounter an error or prefer an alternative method, you can use a government-issued photo ID instead.

You can turn on Do Not Disturb mode to silence push notifications when you need to focus or sleep and set screen time limits to manage the amount of time you spend on Roblox. Learn more about digital well-being here.

Roblox has a robust reporting process in place to address violations of the Terms of Use and Community Standards. You have the ability to easily mute or block other community members and report inappropriate content or behavior on the Roblox application and website.

If you are a parent or guardian, you can create a Roblox account and link it to your child’s account. This enables you to manage the type of content your child has access to, who your child connects with, and how much time they are allowed to spend on Roblox each day. Set up parental controls now.
