Youth Guide to Community Standards

To make it easy for you to understand and uphold our community standards, we simplified them and added helpful imagery. Learn, share, and maintain a respectful, positive experience on Roblox.

Roblox Teen Council

Our Teen Council was created to help inform our tools, experiences, and educational materials for our community.

What began in 2025 as a US-based pilot has grown into our current 2026 Teen Council: a diverse group of young people from the United States, Canada, and Mexico with a passion for online safety and digital well-being.

To date, council members helped inform over 12 products, our Community Standards, the youth guide to these standards, educational materials, PSAs, mental health tips, and more.

Accepting applicants in Asia!

With the success of our current Teen Council, with members across Canada, Mexico, and the United States, we are now recruiting applicants for our Teen Council to represent Japan, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and the Philippines.

You can find the details and requirements in the application form.

Applications must be submitted by June 5th at 12:00am local time.

What our young people are saying

Here's what members of our Teen Council shared with us to help create a better experience for their peers on Roblox.

Struggling isn't a weakness.

If you're struggling, don't feel ashamed. Take a break, and log off. Talk to someone, like a counselor or your parents. Speaking up is a strength!

Talk to yourself like you would to someone you love.

If you're feeling down, embarrassed, or frustrated with yourself, take a deep breath. Ask yourself what you would say to someone you love who was feeling the same things. Be kind to yourself.

Keep your personal information to yourself.

Sharing personal information, like your real name or the name of your school, may feel harmless, but can have unsafe consequences. Remember, you never fully know the person behind the screen, so stay alert (even if it's someone you've been playing with for a long time).

Don’t be afraid to block and report.

If another user is constantly bothering you or is making you feel uncomfortable, don’t be afraid to report and block them. This is a quick way to disengage and end all contact.

Ignore requests to connect somewhere else

If someone is asking you to leave Roblox to chat on your social media or a messaging app, ask yourself why they're asking. Why don't they want to keep chatting on Roblox? Remember, our chat has protections for users, so it's safer to keep conversations where anything inappropriate or unsafe can be flagged.

Notice how screen time affects your mood

There are lots of positives to gaming. You get to connect with friends, collaborate, and have fun. However, too much screen time can sometimes make us feel a bit tired or low-energy. Notice how you're feeling after a long gaming session. If you feel a bit down, consider setting screen time limits for yourself or go into 'do not disturb mode.'
