Roblox Kids and Roblox Select accounts are only available in Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, and the Netherlands at this time. They will roll out globally soon.

Our approach to safety

We take an age-based approach to safety and strive to create appropriate, controlled environments for our youngest users from the start. Our parental controls then allow parents to adjust default settings to enable or disable features based on what works for their families.

We also acknowledge the complexities of online environments. As bad actors continue to evolve and adjust their tactics, the importance of digital education increases. We have parent resources available and encourage families to discuss online dangers and how to identify red flags.

Our core safety features

Roblox Kids & Select accounts

Roblox offers age-appropriate experiences from the start. After completing an age check, users under 16 are automatically placed into a Roblox Kids (5-8) or Roblox Select (9-15) account with age-appropriate games, chat settings, and parental controls.

All games have passed a three-step review process and are clearly labeled with content maturity labels. Roblox Kids’ colorful background helps parents feel confident that their child is in the right place.

What happens if a user isn’t age checked?

If a user’s self-declared age is under 9 or under 16, they will have access to games in the Roblox Kids and Select catalogs, respectively. All other users who have not yet completed an age check  will have a short period of time to complete the process. If they are not able to complete an age check using Facial Age Estimation, ID verification, or parental verification, they will only have access to games with our lowest content maturity ratings. Chat is not available to anyone who is not age checked.

Our dedication to civility & digital well-being

We want everyone to feel safe and respected. This relies on providing a toolkit to our users for healthier, more respectful interactions on Roblox, and off-platform.

This starts with our Community Standards, designed to help users feel safe and welcome, and includes education and support for healthier online behavior.

Reporting and blocking

While the majority of users adhere to our Community Standards, there may be instances where you want to report an issue. You can do so by following the steps provided here.
